# Distances

TrillBit supports three ranges for different use-cases and payload requirements.

* Near protocol:
  1. Distance: Less than 2 feet
  2. Use-case: Authentication of devices or people, Proximity sensing use-cases.
* Mid protocol:
  1. Distance: upto 6 feet
  2. Use-case: Device diagnostics, device setup.
* Far protocol:
  1. Distance: Upto 10 feet
  2. Use-case: Device Setup, Device diagnostics.
